Spider Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Hello Everyone!  I am SO HAPPY to be back for Spooktacular September!  This is my 3rd year participating and has become something that I look forward to EVERY year!

Halloween is a big deal at our house.  From decorating, to costumes, pumpkin carving and making spooky treats, we love to do it all! This year I am excited to share with you a fun treat that my boys and I had a ton of fun making together.

Spooktacular Spider Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
I don't know about you, but we LOVE a good Peanut Butter Cup Cookie!  They are simple to make, and are easy to have little hands help with.  You can either buy store bought peanut butter cookie dough, or follow my simple recipe here!  (I would even bet you have all the ingredients in your pantry at home already!)

Once your dough is made, scoop up and roll into balls and place in a mini muffin pan to bake.

Perfect Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

While they are baking in the oven, unwrap 24 mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Actually you might want to make that a few more, in case a few of them make it to your mouth!

Once your cookies are done baking, immediately remove them from the oven and gently submerge a reese's peanut butter cup in the middle of each cookie.

While they are cooling.  Take a couple handfuls of Pretzel Sticks and Dip them in some chocolate to make your Spider legs.

I used about a cup of Milk Chocolate Chips and put them in a microwave safe bowl and melted them for about 30 seconds.  Pull them out and stir and continue to microwave them for 30 second increments until the chocolate is smooth.   Them simply take your pretzel sticks and dip them in!  Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

To make sure the chocolate is nice and set, pop them into the freezer for about 20-30 minutes.

Next give your Spooky Spider some eyes!  I found these Wilton Candy Eyes on the baking aisle at the grocery store.

Last poke 8 little pretzel legs into the sides of each cookie for a totally fun and perfectly Spook-tacular Treat!
