A

Anybody who has read all these posts may know I have been pining for an A in art ever since I got a B for my GCSE. So I am THRILLED to say on results day I discovered that after 2 years of blood, sweat and tears (well..most of the time) I got...an A!!!!!!!!!

I started this arty blog thing round about half way through my first year of A levels, and now as I embark on my next adventure of university I think it is time I say farewell, especially as I don't even do art anymore. Which is a shame, it has always been apart of my life what with my grandma being an AMAZING sculptor, and my dad having such a big interest in the subject. I think I have been taken to every art exhibition that has ever exhibited. As a child I would wake up at the crack of dawn, run to the art cupboard in my house and spend 8 hours of the day painting/drawing. The passion carried on until round about the second year of my art course where I discovered I just wasn't crazy about it anymore, and I couldn't really see a future in it for me!

SO lots of love 72 followers, I really do appreciate the following and all my comments I have got and STILL get even though I don't post anymore, and though I WON'T delete this I am still going to keep it floating round the blogsphere as I quite like the url name...
but goodbye :D xxx

City and roads

The first year of my art course was very important to me, it built up my skills and showed me what direction to head in...basically to stay away from printing, and to stick with painting!

So here is the first ever project I ever did; my City and roads project in a nutshell..

Some quick small studies in paint, watercolour and chalk of roads
Some more painting studies
collage using my own enlarged imagery
tonal drawing of traffic
A gold card print of traffic
Collage of my own imagery, with paint on top
trying out some oil paints...I think its supposed to be a heavily abstracted image of blurry car lights on a fast road.... I'm not sure.
another watercolour

So as you can see, I have definitely improved over the years!!

Goodbye art world

As the title of this post implies...yes its true, my art course is over meaning my art career is now over too.
BUT before you all hastily unfollow me..just because I might have left art behind at college..doesn't mean I will stop painting, I have been commissioned for a portrait of 2 kids and a dog for a total of £130! This will fund my trip up to Edinburgh in august (for the comedy festival) where I plan to blow my bank balance on a new wardrobe for uni, eat lots of haggis (i like haggis) and of course visit as many comedy gigs as poss!! So I will be posting all about this arty proj which will no doubt take a long time, so please persevere through the blood sweat and tears!

Yesterday I made my final way to college, to go collect all the art I have produced over the last 2 years and bring it home. After rifling through every corner of the entire department I found all my stuff - and christ there was a LOT. I stuffed as many canvas's into my car as possible but still managed to come home leaving a sketchbook and a canvas behind! Ohwell they were rubbish anyway.
But here ^ is a picture of all my books, I quite like how biffed and battered they are, shows how hard I worked on them! Could the 16th of August (aka RESULTS DAY) come any sooner please?!

Stay tuned!

End of year exhibition

Just a preview shot of my stuff up at the exhibition! However now the course is over and the exhibition came down today, I will go back to college tomorrow to fetch my paintings as my family keep bugging me as they like them so much! This is the problem with painting your family!
Below is a picture of the textiles exhibition, and my sisters red baggy trouser display! Impressive right?!

I left my heart in BULGARIAA!!

Seriously, I did...I LOVE that country!!! Every post-college 17 going on 18 year old teenager needs a clubbing and beach holiday with their best friends!! Now I'm home I am so miserable lurking around I may need to book myself another holiday. I swear I was born to be a full-time holiday maker.
