Glittered Halloween Frame

Hi, everyone! It's Amy from Positively Splendid here, and I am so excited to be here for the Spooktacular September series! I always get so many fun ideas from this lineup each year.

Something about the holidays makes me want to pull out the glitter and make something sparkly. Can you relate? If so, I've got a fun, easy Halloween project idea that will be right up your alley! This cute color-blocked glittered frame is perfect for displaying a favorite Halloween printable, and today I'm even providing you with a Halloween printable featuring one of my favorite quotes that is just perfect for this time of year. Ready to get started? Let's get right to it!

Glittered Halloween Frame 5

For this project, you will need...
  • 1 unfinished wood frame
  • White acrylic paint
  • Mod Podge
  • Painter's tape
  • Orange and lime green ultra-fine glitter
  • 2 foam brushes
To begin, use a foam brush to paint the entire surface of the frame white, applying as many coats as needed for full coverage. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Apply 2 strips of the painter's tape along the center portion of the frame, as shown. Working on one end of the frame, apply an even coat of Mod Podge with a foam brush.

While the Mod Podge is still wet, sprinkle on a generous amount of the orange glitter. Shake off any excess glitter, and allow this layer to dry for 5-10 minutes. If you desire even more luster, you can repeat this same Mod Podge/glitter process a second time to create an additional coat. Repeat the process above on the other end of the frame with the lime green glitter.

While the Mod Podge is still slightly wet, remove the Painter's tape.

Once the tape is removed, allow the project to dry completely (preferably overnight) before popping a favorite Halloween photo or printable into the frame. Your glittered Halloween frame is complete!

The quote displayed in my frame is my all-time favorite quote for Halloween, and today I'm sharing the free printable version of it so you can enjoy it this Halloween, too! You can download this file to use for your own personal use by clicking here.

Thanks so much to Jen, Jamie and Jodie for having me over today! Y'all are welcome to stop by Positively Splendid any time, where I'll be creating up a storm all throughout the holiday season!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
